Try as you might, you can’t recreate The feel of those mid summer nights The sun on the lake, our smiles they shone just as bright Those nights we lay out , cool grass on our backs The stars spread before our eyes Our minds wandering off into the cloudless night Those were the nights when we would sing From our hearts and it just felt so right we’re coming home tonight We knew in our hearts things were bound to fall apart That happiness like this could never last We cherished it all like the last drops of fine red wine As the sun began to set, on the horizon our eyes met With tears in our eyes it was time To let go I, will see you again friends of mine Those were the nights when we would sing From our hearts and it just felt so right There were things we shared, that our hearts hold dear We will never forget those times, we’re coming home tonight We will find our way home in the end Those were the nights when we would sing From our hearts and it just felt so right There were things we shared, that our hearts hold dear We will never forget those times, we’re coming home tonight

I just sit and wait For things to go my way I don't know why it hasn't happened yet but I've been here for days It's all just luck and chance Or someones lacklustre attempt I wish to play instead of watch the game but I just couldn't hop that fence, I couldn't hop that fence Oh, whats a boy to do A girl came by today, she told me not to wait that I could have it all if I just take that first step out of the gate Now she's standing tall with a man whose heart is not too small To go after the life he wants And now a dirty glass is all I got Stare at the clock for far too long So, I wait until the time is right I know things will work out when we see the silver lining I'm scared things won't work out and I've wasted my time in the clouds Life's too short to wait For the fickle hands of fate To lay the path down at your feet That will lead you straight to your grave We've only got today So don't you give your time away For every breath that leaves your lips Could be the last breath that you take So don't you let it all go to waste But why do I still wait

Sleepless 03:44
Well this has been the longest night That I have had in all my life I wish that I could justify Why I still think of you, 'cause I still think of you I wish that I could make things right And see just how you feel inside But it's too late for you and I So why, why can't I sleep 'Cause I, I still can't sleep So now I try and walk away again I wish that I could just pretend That it will all work out in the end I love it when you bring me down again I wish that I could make things right And see just how you feel inside But it's too late for you and I So why, why can't I sleep 'Cause I, I still can't sleep And you still haunt my dreams

I am but a simple man, I have no need for stacks Of gold and silver piled as high as trees Just a place to rest my weary head, when day is at it's end And with another's on my chest I drift to sleep Maybe it’s the simple act of stayin' true to yourself Trying to find the beat among the rests Or maybe its diving in head first without a care As the path less travelled stretches to the end Oh I won't let doubt steal my breath    They say that everyones afraid of dying, well I think some are more afraid to truly live When the answers that you seek are before your very eyes The questions often buried deep within While everybody else is worried about the future, ocean sands await beneath a starlit sky Cast your shoes aside, follow me into the tide Phosphorescence burst like supernovas bathe us in their light The stars will guide our way tonight Follow me to tidal pools and summer nights Let the ocean breeze caress your skin, and I will hold you tight Follow me to tidal pools and summer nights Let the ocean breeze caress your skin, and I will hold you, I will hold you tight I feel like I’ve been slipping in and out of love for years Not knowing when the time is finally right To drop to one knee and to look her in both eyes And know that everything will be just fine But I don't have to worry, I've got many years ahead To chase this vision thats laid in my mind I've got a long way to go and a lot more to see I’ll have a restless wandering heart until I die And I won't be coming home tonight

about

This is the first studio produced album for "Noah Edwards." Some of these songs have been waiting to be released unto the world since 2006. They were crafted with love and tireless work and dedication from all those involved. I'd like to give a big shout out to Mike Battle, Eric Paone and Anna Frances. Without them, these songs wouldn't sound the way they do. Big thanks to Todd Hooge at the beautiful Hooge Studios, Jason Cook for Mixing and Brock McFarlane from CPS Mastering. We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage (Canada Music Fund) and of Canada’s private radio broadcasters. The picture used for the artwork was taken in Spring 2014 in Black Creek, on the beach I grew up where many of the imagery in these songs in inspired from. I can't help but find some symbolism in the way the seagull is flying fearlessly towards the thunderhead in the distance. Thanks for listening.
